Today, we had discussions and we linked it to the movie 'The Internship." We were discussing as to why we were all in the SLC and how being in the SLC has changed our lives. Honestly speaking, most of us probably has no change even after being in the SLC. Come to think of it, if being in the SLC hasn't done much to us, why are we even in the SLC? We related it back to the movie and watched a scene where the two interns were being interviewed at a library. The one that really touched the most was that when you are stuck in a blender, it is not about getting out that matters, it is about what happens after. Same thing as "so what?" If us being in the SLC is effective, then what happens after should be the main picture. If we think just being in the SLC will help us after, we are wrong, being in the SLC is nothing if it hasn't changed us or we haven't created any change.
The other thing that we watched from the movie was the scene where the interns group were able to connect with people and help people connect with people, and they eventually got the job because of what they were able to do. It is about "reaching out to people." Which is what the SLC should be doing. Reaching out to people and doing the best we can do in order to succeed in doing so. So I think it was brilliant that we linked our discussion and our life experiences to a very inspiring movie. We are nothing if we are not able to make a difference. Most importantly, it is not about how you got in the blender, what you did in the blender or how you got out of it, what matters is what happens after that.

16 October 2013, Wednesday.
The two most important things i learned today about leadership qualities and how being leaders means nothing if it does not impact the world.
1. Entrepreneurial spirit: Creating opportunities for others.
2. Intellectual Vitality: Taking risks and creating new ideas.
Those are the two things that i need to always remember and have. Being in the SLC will not be the only ticket in great universities, its about entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual vitality.

9 October 2013, Wednesday
Today was somewhat progressive. I was assigned to the web making group along with Jordy, Vira, Kevin, Wibi and I. I saw how Kevin added in and loaded codes and different symbols and all. It was amazing how he did it and i was glad i saw how website making worked and i thought it was easy, turns out it was not. We also discussed about the conferences, we came up with four topics and the subtopics:
- Social Science - Politics, psychology, economy, business, history and sociology and philosophy.
- Natural Science - Biology, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, ecology and food technology.
- Arts and Literature - Advertising ( persuasive), fine arts, design arts, music, literature and film.
- Technology - Physics, engineering and social media.
Along with further subtopics: Media, Urban planning, Mind- Set of the future, culture and communication.
I chose to be in the Arts and Literature section.
This is great, we were all brainstorming and discussing what is needed to get done. Mr. Yosehan was there today, he was the only one supervising me because Mr.Peter was in USA for the university trip and Ms. Malourdes was not there. Mr. Yosehan wanted us to be able to mobilize the entire conference before thinking of what we should be talking about or what we do, we just need to be able to get ourselves mobilized. I thought it was confusing at first, but slowly it got better because i think it was right for us to focus on how we need to be ORGANIZED, and through this, we managed to get ourselves organized.

"Heart. Project." He asked me what i want and will do if i get into the SLC next week and i said "Camp." I honestly do not really know how they are going to assess this but i do hope i get in.
28 September 2013, Saturday
Today, all the SLC members were to go to school and catch up with all the things we needed to do for the SLC projects. Today i was assigned to do the web design along with Jordy. We also talked about the conferences. We came up with an estimated theme: What defines our generation.
With the topic:
- Environmental Science
- Social Science
- Arts and Literature
- Technology
This was a good day, a way for us to catch up with all our pending works and to catch up with new thoughts and ideas. Mr. Peter also came in with a group of parents, whos child are planning to come to Binus. This gave us a chance for us to really open wide and show to those parents, and ourselves, how great the SLC has become, more importantly, how great the school has become.
25 September 2013, Wednesday
- The first meeting where we did the no table seating arrangement.
- "should the SLC unleash the leader in existing leaders?" - Mr. Peter
- we read the proposals written by Ika and Brenda regarding the Association of International Schools in Jakarta (AISJ)
- "What can we do with the existing leaders?" - Hilmi K.
- "unleash the leader in you" - motto. Ideology: Everyone can be a leader.
- You: Students who are not willing, existing leaders, students who wants to be leaders, WIFM: What's in it for me?
- Who are we to council?
- Proposals will always come through the SLC
- What te SLC needs to do is to open opportunity: many approach the unleash the leaders. "Because many people do different things with different people for different people."
- For us to be helpful for everyone
I am really happy to see that my friends are making something big: AISJ. It shows how everyone is capable of doing something great and i want to do the same thing. I also think that it is a great thing that proposals come to the SLC, that way, the teachers will have a bigger and broader view of the students activities, and now that proposals come through the SLC, there will be students opinion and perspective, which will allow a broader and better perspective from both parties of students and teachers.
18 September 2013, Wednesday
- Learn to adjust - 4 guests came and we didn't treat them properly, we made them sit then we excluded them from the rest of the team
- Tie's received today
- Ibu. Myrna visited
- Letter head was completed and shown, the next would be the blood drive
- Mr. Peter gives us challenges for our own good
- Mr. Yosehan "can we catch up 190 years?"
- I learned that Binus student who graduated are all executives this year in dita's university
I see from Dita's experience and who she is now, i see how important it is for us all to be able to be leaders of ourselves and later be able to lead the future. I also am great that Mr. Peter was able to make us realize how badly we treated our guests and that we should never do that, especially when we get older and we come to terms with many other people. Treating guests properly shows respect and appreciation for them and it reflects our first impression, which is very important for us and our guest.
